Details

With the advent of Roots, and PBS shows Kenyatta Berry’s Genealogy Roadshow, and  Finding Your Roots, many of us have become interested in searching for our ancestors, but are not sure where to start. This course will offer resources to help you  get past the 1870 Census, the first US Census that Black men were documented by name. Adults. Registration required.

This program is part of the “Stamped from the Beginning” community read series, made possible, in part, by the Hampton Roads Community FoundationVirginia Humanities, the Virginia Beach Library Foundation, and the Friends of Virginia Beach Public Library.
