Details
Through music and stories in “Anansi & Me,” Arts for Learning’s Valerie Davis engages young children in an interactive program that shares the wisdom of animal "trickster tales” from Ghana. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. Registration is required.
A gifted actor, storyteller, playwright, and producer, Valerie Davis uses her talents to promote awareness of lesser-known historical events and people. With an extensive background in independent films and stage productions, Valerie is known for her historical interpretations of women of courage, channeling her theater background to create powerful portrayals of characters such as Coretta Scott King, Harriet Tubman, and Martha Ann Fields.
This program is presented by Arts for Learning Virginia and supported in part by an award from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission, Helen G. Gifford Foundation, TowneBank Foundation, PRA Group, and Arts Alliance.
