Based on the life of a true violinist virtuoso, Chevalier is based on the life of Joseph Bologne de Saint-Georges, unknown until recently. He was of African descent and recognized and sought out as one of the most premier European artist of the time. So why haven't we heard of him like we heard of Mozart, Bach or Brahms?
