Enjoy a storytime with a ballet teacher and student ballerina from Ballet Virginia, try out some poses pictured in the book, and then participate in a “mini" ballet class. Ages 4-10 years old. Registration is required. 

Enjoy a warm and inviting space where you and your child can play and socialize with others in the community. Please note: This is a social event for both caregiver and child, as opposed to a traditionally structured program.

Build early language and large motor skills through rhyme, songs, book sharing and hands-on activities with your child. Ages 6-24 months with caregiver. Registration is required.

Get up and moving while learning about animal locomotion and why some animals don’t need to move to survive. Presented by Virginia Aquarium. Toddlers through Kindergarten.  

Boost independence and develop social skills using writing activities, basic concepts (i.e., colors, shapes, letters, etc.), large muscle movement, and social-emotional learning opportunities focusing on the whole child.

Enjoy a casual chat about popular books. Talk about titles you like and hear what others enjoy. Swap favorites old and new or spread the word about your favorite reads. 

Have fun finding out what skills you have and what you need to learn to be a successful teen. From filling out forms to laundry- do you know what you need?  Grades 6-12.  Registration is not required.

Join the Kempsville stuffed animals and puppets for a snuggly storytime.  We will be getting cozy with a story and then practicing some pretend play with puppets and our friends. Ages 3-5.  Registration required.
