Day Calendar

Enjoy a warm and inviting space where you and your child can play and socialize with others in the community. Please note: This is a social event for both caregiver and child, as opposed to a traditionally structured program.

Boost independence and develop social skills using writing activities, basic concepts (i.e., colors, shapes, letters, etc.), large muscle movement, and social-emotional learning opportunities focusing on the whole child. Age 2 with a caregiver.

Build confidence and independence with an increased focus on more complex books, emphasizing alphabet and letter recognition, shapes, and hands-on activities. Age 3 with caregiver. Registration is required.

Come and enjoy a craft that you and your child can participate in between storytimes. Each Make & Take Craft will be based off of something that was learned in storytime and further enrich your child's knowledge. Ages 2-3 with caregiver.

Mahjong was developed in 19th century China and is now played all over the world! Learn the classic game at the library, or join the group if you already know the rules. No experience necessary. Adults 18+. Registration is required.

Do you want to use a 3D Printer at a Virginia Beach Public Library branch? Register for a required 3D printer orientation with a VBPL staff member to learn how to use the 3D Printer.

Bring your craft, your supplies and your passion! Meet other crafters and creators, share your ideas and get new ones!

Come to Pungo-Blackwater Library and create a charming, one-of-a-kind stamped tea towel using fresh fruits and vegetables. Adults. Registration is required.

Switch off, and play some classic board games with other teens.

Teens, ages 14-18 and homeschool teens. Registration is required.

Join us Wednesdays for teen-only activities. Enjoy movies, games, crafts, and more, with different selections each week. Grades 6-12. Registration is not required; drop in any time!

Weekly Themes:

Adventure awaits! Join us for a one off Dungeons and Dragons adventure with other interested teens led by a Library Game Master. No prior experience required, new players welcome! All supplies and character sheets will be provided. 

Receive personalized, one-on-one assistance from a library staff member in a session designed specifically for you as an English Language Learner.

For non-native speakers of English. This is a FREE beginning-level class for speaking, reading, and writing English.
