This "mural" will welcome visitors to our first ever Bayside Mini Zine Fest. After you're finished drawing, join us inside for the fest, starting at 12 p.m.!

Come celebrate the DIY spirit with us at our very first Zine Mini Fest!

Zines (pronounced "zeens") are self-published print-works made in small batches. Short for "magazine," they can be about anything!

We will have two sessions of demonstrations, one starting at 1:00pm, and another starting at 3:00pm.

Got a character you love to draw? Turn them into an adorable paper doll! 

This workshop will be led by our Teen Volunteer Maya.

Poetry is for everyone! Come to this poetry workshop led by Arts for Learning and walk away with new poems of your own making.

Bayside Library is starting its very own zine collection! Come to this info session to learn how you can submit your work, what the acceptance policies are, and when the collection will have its official launch.

Recycle used CD’s in this fun art program! With the acrylic paint provided, create a fun design on a CD. Ages 9-13. Registration required. 

Accessibility Hour is when the Kempsville branch of the library will be opening an hour before our normal operating hours on the last Friday of the month.

Are you a manga lover? If so, come on over and create some manga inspired art with us. Ages 8-12 years. 

Do something for yourself this month, create and decorate a gratitude jar where you can store all of your thoughts, feelings, and things you are thankful for!  Materials provided. Ages 9-12. Registration is required. 

Perfect for homeschoolers. All are welcome! Get ready to make some music with the Otamatone! We'll explore different sounds, practice simple tunes, and even try playing together as a group.

Come meet new people, design your own paper airplanes, and participate in challenges!
