Join us on April 6, 2026 for discussion of "By Any Other Name: A Novel" by Jodi Picoult.
Melina Green, a budding playwright, is inspired by a clipping she receives in the mail from her father stating that Emilia Bassano, the first published female poet in England (1611) was her ancestor. The story alternates between Melina and Emilia. Picoult's novel is rooted in her historical research and that of museum archivists.
We will have a guest in historical garb and learn about how to use family history in your writing.
