An award-winning artist and designer, David Gwaltney earned a BFA in Communication Arts and Design from VCU. Working on the Apple iPad Pro with the Procreate app, he creates original hand drawn digital paintings/ illustrations. David’s works have won numerous international design and illustration awards.

He was the featured artist for the 2018 Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show Poster, “A Spot In The Universe.” His whimsical and colorful illustrations are featured as public art in the Neon District, Norfolk and the VIBE District, Virginia Beach. He is an exhibiting artist at The Artists Gallery/Virginia Beach Arts Center, displaying his current Illustrations and ceramic works, which he refers to “As An Unfortunate Series Of Pots Gone Bad.”

Meet this artist at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library on Wednesday, May 4 from 6-7:30 pm. Gwaltney's art will be on display in the Central Library art gallery throughout the month of May.
