Join us for Bayside Talks, a quarterly speaker series at the Bayside Library!
Our guest speaker this month is Wesleyan professor Sara Ryan with a talk on the power of poetry of witness in honor of Human Rights Day:
"Solitude, tranquility, silence—these are often words that we associate with poetry. However, in the poetry of those who have survived disaster or traumatic personal or historical events, poets present their truth while balancing the uncomfortable and comfortable with history and experience. This presentation will discuss the power of urgency, the weight of silence, and our many tasks as readers to receive and understand truth."
Adults. Registration is required.
