Program Description

Details

You are invited to a special screening of the documentary short "Bridge of Books" followed by a conversation and Q&A with Aaron Lansky, founder and president of the Yiddish Book Center. "Bridge of Books" is the moving and often funny chronicle of how an enterprising twenty-three-year-old Aaron Lansky rallied together an international network of volunteers and set out to rescue the world's Yiddish books. Decades later, the Yiddish Book Center has collected more than a million Yiddish books, helping to save a rich, diverse, and surprisingly modern literature from oblivion.
